And I got some really juicy opportunities in here!

NOTE FROM AUTHOR
omgggg i can’t believe it’s early career recruiting season again! August clearly had somewhere to be, but I must say, this is my Super Bowl! Welcome to year 4 of The Ninth Semester, and I’m always committed to helping YOU get hired.
I’ve spent this Summer working on opportunities for you all, filling my cup so I can stop being so burnt out, as well as touching some grass because Love Island S7 and S3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty is driving me crazy LOL.
Some highlights of mine include:
I GAVE A TED TALK IN JUNE
@theninthsemester I officially gave a TEDx talk!!!!!!! Here’s the day from my POV 🤭❤️ #tedtalk #tedxtalks #tedxspeaker #dayinmylife #chicagoinfluencer #then... See more
Arguably one of the best days of my life, and I can’t help but be grateful for every single one of you who play a role in this dream career of mine! The video isn’t live yet (trust me, you will be one of the first few people to find out!), but check out my vlog recap on it!
I’M GIVING A KEYNOTE AT THE AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION’S INTERNATIONAL COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE IN MARCH 2026

I’m still in shock about this one! If you’re a member of the AMA chapter at your school, let me know! I hope to see you there. The conference is open to non-members, too. You can try and get your school to sponsor a ticket. Learn more about the conference and secure your ticket HERE
I hosted a free webinar with Black Girls Code about How to Build a LinkedIn Profile That Stands Out and leads to opportunities, job offers, and a bigger network. Watch the recap below
Now let’s hop into the agenda!
In today's post:
I’m going to teach you how to create your own micro-internship

OMG I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE! I talk a lot about creating your own work experiences to design your dream careers and this is a fantastic way to take a meaningful step in doing so. This partnership was created with my community in mind and we’re going to give you the tools and frameworks to create your own opportunities with micro-internships.
We’re kicking this partnership off with a webinar on September 17th to break everything down, so be sure to RSVP ASAP - see you there!
Conferences, Webinars, Campuses - Where to catch me this Fall!
I love Q4 because not only is recruiting season in full swing, but so is conference season! This year, I will be speaking at and attending several events across the US. Here are a few places I’ll be and hope to meet you:
SEPTEMBER
I’m back for Year 2 of speaking at the National Sales Network Student Sales and Marketing Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. I heavily shared this all-expenses-paid opportunity on my channels, and the team told me SOOOO many of y’all applied!
Even a few of y’all reached out and shared that you got accepted! This year’s presentation is all about How to Build a Profitable Brand Early in Your Career. This is a topic near and dear to my heart, so I can’t wait.
Here’s a recap on last year’s conference ^
Applications are closed for the 2025 conference, but the tea is. Applications for the 2026 conference will open in October, so be sure to check out the conference details HERE and mark your calendars!
OCTOBER

I’m back at UNC Chapel on October 1st! I’ll be hosting a workshop on how to bring your resume to life and share your story in any room. If you’re a UNC-Chapel Hill student, RSVP today.
I’m also doing an in-person fireside chat at the University of Chicago in late October, so stay tuned for more details!
NOVEMBER

I’m back for year 2 at TEDNext! I’m joining the team again in their creator cohort for the 2025 conference Nov 9-11 in Atlanta. They shared a ton of resources for my community, so you can attend, including ticket discounts, tips on convincing your school/company/organization to cover the cost of your ticket, and more. Check it out in my post here
I want to spotlight you on my blog

My blog is currently going under a revamp and when it’s back, I’m launching my new series, Behind The Offer! This series is simple: spotlighting the stories of early career professionals and how they’ve landed coveted internships, full-time roles, and everything in between.
Through this series, you’ll hear from your peers with realistic tips on how to get your dream early career opportunity. We have a sneak peek coming to this newsletter soon, so stay tuned!
